On 22 August, Britcham celebrated the 20th anniversary of its International Energy Seminar, bringing together experts and industry leaders for an in-depth discussion on energy transformation in Brazil. The event addressed the key challenges and opportunities related to supply security, costs, and decarbonisation strategies, while also exploring future scenarios for energy and climate in the country.
The opening ceremony featured remarks from Fabio Caldas, President of Administrative Council, and Helena Crowther, British Deputy Consul-General in Rio de Janeiro. The panel of speakers included prominent figures such as Elbia Gannoum from ABEEólica, Marcio Trannin from ABSOLAR, Professor Paulo Emílio Valadão de Miranda from ABH2, Renata Isfer from ABiogás, Roberto Ardenghy from IBP, Adriano Burger from bp, Paulo Mario Correia de Araújo from ERM, David Hone from Shell, and Heloisa Borges from EPE.
The panels were moderated by the event organisers: Leonardo Miranda, President of the Energy Committee; Monique Gonçalves, Vice-President of the same Committee; and Clarisse Rocha, Vice-President of Britcham Rio de Janeiro. The event concluded with closing remarks by Nicholas Burridge, President of the Rio de Janeiro branch, followed by a special edition of the Round of the Great British Business Club in Brazil (GBBC).
